Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center (GHS) is a not-for-profit academic health organization committed to medical excellence through research, education and clinical quality. The system’s five campuses provide integrated health care to communities across the region. In its ongoing pursuit to advance health care, GHS will welcome the charter class of its four-year medical school this year, University of South Carolina School of Medicine–Greenville.

What’s the most important thing you want Upstate residents to know about GHS?
As the state’s largest healthcare system, we offer a full circle of care – from prevention and early diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation. We follow “best practices” that deliver efficient, effective, evidence-based medicine so that area residents can receive the right care at the right time and in the right place – right here in the Upstate.

Why does GHS think TEDxGreenville is important to our community?
Greenville Hospital System places high value on innovation, forward thinking, open communication and collaboration – the essence of what TED is about. Real innovation happens when you unite and share ideas worth spreading, and we are grateful that TEDxGreenville brings that opportunity close to home. Such a collaborative model makes it possible to augment the impact of these inspired ideas and “break through” brainstorming barriers, no matter what the discipline, with the result being a better Upstate.
